New Build Experience
I tend to buy a variety of sets for both myself and my kids. This was my first art set, and it was the perfect experience for my day off to relax and unwind and take my time building this. I listened to the soundtrack while doing it was was also good to learn about the background to the artwork. It took me about 5 hours including time to sort out the pieces, and I must say the finished product is amazing and looks so much better in person than in the photos online. Would highly recommend. I plan to wall mount this above my home office desk, but have it on a shelf for now.

Great Wave of Joy
Being a huge Van Gogh fan the first Art Lego I built was obviously The Starry Night. When Hokusai’s Great Wave launched I wasn’t initially bothered about buying it but then I remembered reading Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo and how he mentions often being inspired by Japanese art and would have known The Great Wave well. Indeed experts think the two artworks are linked with Van Gogh being inspired with the position of his cloud/galaxy in Starry Night from the Position of the wave in Hokusai’s artwork. I went ahead and bought this and I’m so glad I did. It was a pure joy to build and even the frame building was a joy and very therapeutic. I now have a new appreciation for Hokusai thanks to Lego!!

Beautiful!
The Great Wave Lego set is worthy of a spot on your wall where everyone can see it. It was a fun build (I'm used to sticker heavy sets, and it was much more relaxing with no stickers), and the frame makes this art piece stand out so well. I feel like I 100% need The Starry Night now! I hope to see more art pieces in the future. Highly recommend, and love that I can show off my love of Lego to everyone who comes through my front door.

Wonderful experience and beautiful results
Lego has done an amazing job with this set. As soon as I saw it, I was drawn to it and knew I had to have it. Everything about this set did not disappoint. I loved putting together the art and watching it grow. While it does not have the depth of Starry Night, the depth it does have, draws you in. Excellent use of pieces from dots to leaves to birds. I will be hanging this set on my office wall tomorrow. Highly recommended!

Simply stunning
I had no intention of buying this set when I visited my local store until I saw it built and on display, it drew me in like a magnet pulling me across the floor. Photos don't do it justice. The frame adds such a refined, classy, adult finish. The build was a pleasure too. I've never been a Lego art fan, yet it is now my favourite set I've ever bought. If you have doubts, see it on display - you won't regret it.

More than just a Lego activity
This was the most educational play activity I've experienced! Didn't have Legos as a young person, but very familiar with how kids play with them. Never thought an adult could get so much out of Legos! The whole audio documentary about the artist Hokusai, was very interesting. Listening to it as I built my Great Wave was just the best experience. It inspired me to look for more information on the ", and I now have a fabulous book on Hokusai's "36 views of Mt Fuji"!

My first Art Series Build
I originally bought this for someone else. But that didn’t work out. So as it sat in the box ready to be returned I said, “ What the heck I’ll build it instead “.
Now I’ve never done an Art Series before so I didn’t know what to expect. The box art did look beautiful which prompted me to open it. It started out kind of what I expected with the dots being placed in color order. But as the bags I opened continued I noticed much more! The tiles actually created a beautiful piece of work in a 3D fashion. At that point I couldn’t stop it had to be done. I enjoyed every minute of it! Right down to building the frame. It took me about 6-7 hours. I hung it on the wall and looks like a million dollars. I’m going to get a shelf and put my Lego Bonsai Tree next to it. ( the pink version). Well next time I go to Lego store I will definitely be looking at the Van Gough. Thanks Lego! The Art series was a definite hit for me.

The Great Wave is a great build!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed building and displaying The Great Wave! A very different build than other Lego kits but really fun to build and amazing as it all comes together. Shown here is also Starry Night. MORE LIKE THESE PLEASE! They are fun to build and don’t take a lot of real estate which keeps my wife happy!!
