It’s a map!
Overall I’m happy with this map, but Legos math is off on this one. This set uses 10,736 pieces if you follow the instructions, with 80 markers( 40 cones plus a matching smooth stud thats the same as all the other nine). I had 1,322 loose studs left over at the end of this project, so in reality my box officially had 12,058 pieces in an advertised set of 11,695. The set looks great, my only negative is there isn’t a compass or legend to explain the ocean topography or the markers and their meanings. Also, don’t follow the instructions on where to place the wall hangers, they are not set to 16”, more like 17”, this really needs to be mounted to studs it’s really heavy.

Solid Display Piece for an Office
I bought this set in addition to the Globe that I assembled earlier in the year. I was not a fan of white continents, so I decided the colorize them and get creative with the oceans.
The price per piece ratio is really good, so lots of options exist if you want to change things around. Not going the white continents route and not coloring in the oceans saved a lot of pieces that I used for pixel art.
Overall, this was a fun build that allowed for me to be expressive in how things could go. Plus, you get extra pieces you can use in other art if you want to. Solid set.

Great Set
I was really excited when this set was launch and knew I wanted to buy. Since working from home I have been trying to find something in my background on calls and this ticked all the boxes of what I wanted. The Build was slow and at times a struggle. It was hard to keep enthusiastic when the build took so long. Now it's finished I am super happy and can't wait to show it off in the background of my calls. One criticism would be lack of hanging instructions. They do provide hocks but no were does it state how heavy the map is or what hardware is best. I am slightly worried it may fall off my wall or destroy it. It's certainly not a light thing to have hanging up. All in all I am very happy.

Awesome-sauce but...
This was a really great build that I suggest you stretch out over multiple sessions. Built the set by first putting in the land masses (white & dark blue) at 1-2 columns (5-10 squares) per day. I didn't know how I'd put in the oceans, so I completed the entire set in about a week. Afterwards, I used the info from the box to guess how many pieces I'd need / have to complete the oceans & chose a different method than those I found online. I put in the oceans more by a climate zone theme (see photo). This involved math & sometimes guesswork. In the end, I ended up blending more colors than I originally intended, but I like the finished product. I'd like to see more creative designs displayed online for what people did with the oceans (and how they calculated colors needed).

Great art for the wall
This is my first LEGO Art set that I purchased and it was a challenging yet great set! It took me around 25+ hours to complete but after 15 hours, it started to get a little repetitive. I love that the oceans can be customised in a multitude of ways, and the white frame makes the whole thing look nice. I also love that the set comes with cone pieces to mark the places you have visited. One thing I was concerned about was hanging it up. The set weighs about 10 lbs. and my apartment doesn’t allow nails in the wall. I found that heavy duty Command strips that can hold 16 lbs. is more than enough for this set. Overall this is a great set! If you are in need of some wall art and don’t mind some repetition, I recommend this set.

Lovely set, make it your own!
This is the first LEGO art set I have purchased, and I'm definitely sold. I wasn't a fan of the oceans so started the model 'customise the oceans' map with the cube but then found it a lot more fun and interesting just to decorate the oceans my own way. It's huge, and will make a great conversation piece on the wall. It took hours and hours too, and comes with extra pieces, so really good value for money. My only complaint is that the cat currently thinks it's a scratch board.

Following my own instructions
Seeing the customizable oceans got me thinking about all of the possibilities with this set, and I ended up doing something I rarely do...I built my own thing. In the process, I had a blast figuring out my design and praying I had enough of each color to complete it. I may one day tear it all apart and build what I was supposed to, or I might just build something completely different again.

Love it!
I have always wanted a world map on my wall and as a Lego fan for 50 years what could be better than a Lego world map! It’s a straightforward build although quite repetitive obviously. Easy to customise, I copied the octopus from the pictures on the Lego website but added a seahorse, fish, anchor and compass myself. Great that I can change it if I want something different.
