Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful blast from the past. Like so many fans of the old Lego pirates sets I was delighted to see this set and I purchased it almost immediately when I saw it in my local shop. The set is a joy to build, and something that sets it apart from the pirate ships of old is the fact that it is a fully brick built ship, with no use of the old ship hull base plates. I would of liked to see another pirate minifigure included in the set at its price, however that doesn't take away from the set in a major way. I just hope that this set is a method of testing the waters to see the interest in a new series of the Lego pirates theme.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy to see LEGO Pirates back! This set, along with Pirates of Barracuda Bay, feel like a lure on whether LEGO will invest in a wave of Pirate sets in the future. Well Im happy this seems to be selling as well as it is. I love original LEGO IPs. This is my first Pirate ship since the early 2000s and LEGO hit it out of the park as far as im concerned. Good price, good amount of minifigures (considering this is in the creator line), fun build. Brick built masts, shark/parrot; though the original single molds still hold a place in my heart... If I had ONE complaint, I would have liked to seen another minifigure (female perhaps?) or two extra cannons just to flush the set out a tad more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hours of fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My grandson(11) and I had tons of fun putting this pirate ship together. It was a bit challenging to fit all the pieces together but we made a game of who could find the right pieces. It probably took us longer to build this ship than others but we had so much fun, we lost track of time. The colors are really vibrant and it’s Lego, so the quality is always there. Of course, my grandson has to be different, so he takes blocks away from areas and adds them to other areas. It’s interesting to see his creativity at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lego got it right again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Lego Creator 31109 3 in 1 Pirate Ship set with 1260 pieces and it was a BEAST! We had an amazing time putting it together. My 12 year old grandson loves LEGO's and Pirates so this was a home run hit for this Grandma! It wasn't as hard as I was expecting it to be but it was still a bit of a challenge. Between work and school stuff we had it done in 4 evenings and it looked great. I like the size of it (not too big but not small either). He is proudly displaying it on his night stand. But we are definitely going to do the Skull Island as soon as he gets ready to take it apart. Lego has been a favorite in our home for years and this one was no exception- great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Build I have always liked my pirate ships and so when I first saw it was attracted to it ! I was a little put off by the plastic sails but I took a gamble. Wow, I am impressed. The details are amazing, love the fact that it’s all built via “blocks” - no preformed hulls - amazing how the contours of the hull come together. It’s very elegant !! The scale is just right for a Lego pirate. Scale is probably one of the things that has impressed me most - it’s just right. The dreaded sails work ! The guy ropes compliment the look. Great build!! May have to buy another for an MOC. Well done

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love pirates! Cool ship. Complements Barracuda Bay Only got back into lego after barracuda bay retired and was on the fence between this (since it's still on shelves) and the aftermarket. Opted to get Barracuda Bay in aftermarket and I love it... Although Barracuda Bay can be built back into the ship, I prefer it in island Form as there's more of a story happening than just the ship. Thus, I wanted a ship and opted to get this as well. In the end, I getting both, lol. It's detailed for the size. It looks way better in real life than on the box IMO. Worth the money. Barracuda is the better set, but this is also great for the price, size and piece count... Very nice detail with everything brick built. I didn't build the shark however, it looks too silly. Brick built sails are interesting too. Not ever bothering with alt builds, although they in itself look great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great set for generations I chose this set as I wanted to get a taste of LEGO again as an adult, one that I would enjoy now, and then my son in a decade. This set feels timeless to me, it brings back memories of the pirate sets I used to play, and as it's not bound to any specific franchise it should stand the test of time. It's also great that 3 builds are included with instructions, I haven't rebuilt it yet, but from the looks the alternatives are very decent as well. The build took a while, but apart from some strange color coding in the instructions, it's all clear. To top it all off, it came with a "free" VIP add-on pack Pirates and Treasure 40515, so I could pimp up the ship a bit (see pictures).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shiver me timbers! I’ve found the treasure I don’t know where to start! This is the first LEGO kit I’ve purchased for myself. After my own 4yr old has gotten into LEGO big time over the last 6 months and playing with him and building some of the kits, it reignited the same passion I had growing up when I played with LEGO. Having always wanted a pirate ship as a kid but my folks unable to afford them at the time I thought why not buy myself one now! This build was fantastic and the amount of pieces for the price was excellent. The finished ship is not small at all and really has presence! The built up sails look really good and I thought the shark is also really well done. Lots of other little gems like swords and guns, treasure and canons and even a skeleton crew member. I’m waiting for the Ideas Barracuda set to come back into stock and I’ll be adding it to my fleet too! Haven’t built the other two builds as the ship looks to nice to pull apart.
